The role of Our Sponsors

Every project at Just One Child is broken down into manageable blocks in order for our Sponsors and volunteers to get involved in the whole experience of raising a child in a meaningful and successful way. This, we believe, will make a marked difference, one child at a time.
Ultimately, we aim to assist one hundred children per year, in homes such as Thabang. What an achievement it would be to offer society a useful adult instead of another needy individual.

Scouts rise and shine




It is interesting to note how the message has spread about the houses

In 2004 we received R100,000 from various fundraising events held by St Mary`s parish in Wales , while well over R35,000 has been sent by various donors in Australia .A company in London sent R1200 and 10 pairs of brand new " bob the builder " shoes as well as piles of brand new "bob the builder " clothes for the children. Only a few days ago we received R2000 raised by a group of children at the Deer Park Primary school in Toronto , and the we were lucky enough to have a live theatre musial production donated to us by Demag engineering in South Africa which raised about R20,000.

This was organised by Robyn Maraschin , wife of the paediatrician referred to later. The monthly cost of running Clairvaux and Thabang alone are about R30,000 per month , and yet we are never short. A very big thank you from all the children to all of you who have contributed so meaningfully in so many different ways . We have many ideas to keep the momentum going , and we value not only your support but also your suggestions. We also have a very , very dedicated Paediatrician , Dr Enricho Maraschin who looks after all our babies when they are sick , totally free of charge .
